Trend of receiving courier will always continue.
But I miss the walk of a postman.
Knocking our doors with greetings and smile.
Giving us the delivery of letters and postcards from different corners of the world.
Excitement of reading my own name on the front of the envelope.
Now rarely you get see a person dressed in brown uniform.
Alerting the surroundings with his bicycle bell.
Heart breaks to see my favourite person of the time, vanishing in the air.
How much the technology may develop but no one can replace you.
You have and will always rule our heart.

True words on a Postman, Tanvir. Technology has taken them away. Luckily in Mumbai we yet have postmen who come to our houses with posts. Nice poem.

Thanks for joining in. It used to be quite exciting to have a letter in the post. Sadly we don’t get much mail now.

I write to some elderly friends every month as they are old school and not into computers. It’s nice to get replies too.

Lovely po. We still have postman here in the UK. Maybe no bicycle and bell.
But it true no more hand written notes. But my mum and I still send birthday cards via the posts. I love sending and receiving cards. There is no other feeling like ut.

Oh such memories of childhood about the postman in that uniform! He somehow adds to the lesiure feeling of the past as compared to the technology busy current times.

Wonderful tribute to postman… Those were the days when these things provided lot of happiness as well, the wait for postman to deliver the letters etc…

THere are many things that ‘progress’ has ruined.

Agree. But with progress maintenance of needed hertiage is also required which shouldn’t be forgotten but sadly it is.

There’s an art of letter writing, the anticipation, the waiting of the post person to arrive and deliver…oh how I miss those moments.
